UP-Tuks are once again under the cosh after dropping points against a strong NWU-Mafikeng in Round Four of Varsity Football and have little choice but to win against Central University of Technology in Bloemfontein next Monday.
UP-Tuks are third on the log and are still in contention for a semi-final spot with three matches to play but their road to being crowned champions is becoming more and more difficult with each match they fail to win.
Head coach Tlisane Motaung knows how difficult it will be for his team to win in Bloemfontein, but is confident that UP-Tuks can upset the odds and win.
“It is not going to be easy to beat an unbeaten CUT in Bloemfontein,” he told varsitysportssa.com.
“We have had a look at a couple of videos and identified CUT’s weaknesses. It is critical that we return to Pretoria with maximum points in order for us to stay in the playoffs mix,” he added.
UP-Tuks travel to Bloemfontein to face CUT at the CUT Stadium on Monday, 15 August. Kickoff is scheduled for 16:30 with the match being televised live on SuperSport 210.
UP-Tuks starting XI to face CUT: Dylan Patterson, Simbongile Njokwe (c), Nicholas Killas, Richard Moremi, Tiago Da Serra, Mbongeni Masilela, Claudio de Almeida, Mogau Khwinana, Sabelo Tsambo, Siphesihle Sosibo, Frank Mpedi
