TUT are looking forward to keep up a perfect start when take on University of Johannesburg in the Varsity Football match at the TUT stadium on Monday.
TUT remain unbeaten in the Varsity Football tournament so far this year, with nine points after three matches and a win against UJ on Monday could be enough to send them through to the semi-finals. UJ beat TUT during the FASU Final held in Gauteng recently and the Varsity Football game on Monday could provide an opportunity for the home team to find revenge and regain their dented image.
TUT striker, Jacob Hlalele remains a dangerman for the hosts after scoring in all the games played so far, and could be a handful for the visitors who are still nursing wounds after being beaten by University of Pretoria on Monday. Hlalele has scored three goals so far in the tournament and will certainly look forward to adding another goal to his tally in his bid for the top goal scorer award.
“It’s going to be another big game against UJ,” said Hlalele. “We want to keep the winning momentum and it’s important to get another three points against UJ.”
Other players to watch at TUT include midfielder Sbusiso Ndlovu, who was named FNB Man of the Match during the Varsity Football game against UFH on Monday, and goalkeeper Dumsani Msibi, whose experience of playing in top -light football for SuperSport United is rubbing off on his teammates.
