Hosts UJ ended their match with a competitive UCT side deadlocked at 1-1 in Johannesburg on Sunday.
The home side made the early running, but it would be the Cape side who struck first when Stacey Morley-Jepson grabbed the opening goal.
UJ were left stunned but regrouped well and a strike from Kailia Fleming saw them draw level in the second chukka.
Both teams threw absolutely everything at each other in the final stges as they searched for a late winner, but in the end neither team could find the killer blow and they had to share the spoils.
UJ are facing Maties tomorrow (4.30pm) while UCT are up against NMMU (3pm).
The scorers:
For UJ: Kaila Flemming
For UCT: Stacey Morley-Jepson
