Thabo Mnyamane, a former Varsity Football Player of the Tournament, in the inaugural season of Varsity Football, has signed for SuperSport United F.C. for upcoming Premier Soccer League season.
Mnyamane was the first Varsity Football player to join a PSL team when he was snapped up by University of Pretoria F.C. in 2013. He was also named footballer of the tournament during the 2013 Varsity Football season.
The 23-year-old striker was one of the key players for North-West University Mafikeng Campus, where he studied Sports Science.
Thabo Mnyamane had a message of support for his former team ahead of the 2016 edition of the Varsity Football tournament.
“Use this opportunity to showcase to the whole nation what you are made of,” said Mnyamane. “Play for the batch of North-West University. Trust your team mates. Play as a unit. You might just win it this time around.”
NWU-Mafikeng kick off their 2016 Varsity Football campaign against UJ at 16:30 at NWU-Mafikeng Stadium on Monday 18 July.
