The next round of Varsity Hockey matches at the University of the Free State and the University of Johannesburg from 11-13 May will see four matches broadcast live on Supersport.
Following the opening round in Potchefstroom the field will be split into two groups of four teams to do battle in Bloemfontein and Johannesburg.
Hosts Kovsies will take on UP-Tuks, Wits and Potchefstroom champions NWU-Pukke in Bloemfontein whilst in Johanesburg UJ, Maties, UCT and NMMU will fight it out ahead of the play-offs in Pretoria on May 20.
The planned broadcast of the opening round matches between Kovsies and Maties and UJ and NWU-Pukke had to be suspended, following a technical fault in Supersport’s outcast broadcast van.
However, following those unfortunate issues Supersport have decided to air extra games in Pretoria on Sunday May 19.
Monday May 13 will see an action-packed evening of Varsity Hockey live on Supersport 5. The first matches will be televised from Johannesburg where UCT face NMMU and Maties take on hosts UJ.
From there the focus will shift to Bloemfontein where Pukke will do battle with UP-Tuks before Kovsies duel it out with Wits.
On top of the live coverage of four matches in Bloemfontein and Johannesburg Supersport will also air two additional matches from the final round in Pretoria on May 19 as well as all four play-off matches live from the University of Pretoria on May 20.
