Defending Varsity Netball champions Kovsies cruised to a convincing 56-29 bonus-point win against Maties in Johannesburg.
The Free State side were in control throughout the match, and ended with a full-house of log points as Maties buckled under the pressure.
Kovsies made a fast start and took a 14-7 lead into the first break, and by half-time they were 24-12 up.
Maties took the powerplay in the third quarter and managed to make up some ground, but Kovsies were already too far away to be caught.
The only question in the final quarter was whether Kovsies would go on to claim the bonus point, which they did fairly easily in the end.
