Maties put in a dominant performance and ran out convincing 71-13 winners in front of their home fans to claim the Cape bragging rights in this year’s Varsity Netball competition.
The home side showed their dominance early in the match and took full control over UCT which saw them take a 15-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.
There was no stopping Maties in the second quarter as they once again dominated their opponents. The home side increased their lead to take a massive 36-6 lead going into the halftime break.
Maties kept their foot firmly on the gas in the third quarter and went into the final quarter with a healthy and unassailable lead.
It was all too easy for the home side as they cantered to a convincing 71-13 bonus point victory to claim the Cape derby bragging rights.
