The University of Johannesburg’s netball team will make their way to Potchefstroom this weekend where they will face Pukke and Kovsies during the first bumper weekend of the Varsity Netball tournament.
There is great energy amongst the UJ team and they are looking to maintain their current number one position on the log.
“The team is looking forward to the travelling, meeting new people and just enjoying both games,” said a very positive Deancke Rohde, captain of the UJ netball team.
“We need to stick to our game plan for each game and capitalise on the power play,” she added.
Christelle Botha, who plays either goalkeeper (GK) or goal attack (GA) is very excited about the bumper weekend and feels that the UJ netball team has a lot to offer.
“I really want us to be one of the top four teams this year and ultimately winning both the semifinal and final games,” said a very determined Botha.
“My personal goals are to do what I have practised and to play to the best of my ability in every game,” she added.
The entire UJ community wishes the UJ netball team a very safe trip to the north-west province and have their fingers crossed that they will have a victorious weekend.
