TUT ladies cruised into the final after comfortably defeating UWC 2-0 in Mafikeng to set them up at a chance of going one better than last year’s competition.
The Twsane ladies were thumped 6-0 by UJ in last year’s final and are hoping to add the Varsity Football trophy to their USSA title.
Coach Tebogo Mokae was hoping his side would get the chance to avenge that defeat by meeting UJ in the final this year.
“We were hoping to play UJ in the final so that we could get revenge for last year but be that as it may, we are fully focussed on adding the Varsity Football trophy to our USSA one,” he said.
TUT put in a dominant performance against the Cape ladies but Mokae said his team needed some polishing if they are to overcome a tough Tuks team.
“We created plenty of chances but couldn’t convert so we will be looking to improve on that during training. We weren’t really tested defensively but I was happy that we managed to keep a clean sheet,” he added.
The Pretoria sides have played regularly against each other and Mokae said that it’s going to come down to which team is better prepared.
