It doesn’t get any better or bigger than this – defending champions UP-Tuks, who are currently second on the log, will host unbeaten current log leaders NWU-Mafikeng in the pick of the Round Five matches.
Both sides are coming off resounding victories where the sides scored 11 goals between them, Tuks put five past Limpopo while NWU got six of their own.
UP-Tuks will be the more confident of the sides as they managed to defeat North West students twice last year, in the round robin and semi-final stages, on their way to claiming the inaugural title.
The visitors know it will be a tough battle in Pretoria but are dead set on getting revenge for those defeats.
“This year is a total different ball game. We have a different team altogether. We will be on revenge mission against TUKS. We have a unbeaten so far in this year’s competition and we won’t allow them to stand on our way,” said NWU coach Amos Xabanisa.
Tuks coach Evangelos Vellios said they have studied the Mafikeng side and will be going all out to climb to the top of the table.
“We have studied their style of play and know what to expect. Nothing less than a win will do for us. We want to top of the log when the ref blows the final whistle,” Vellios said.
No matter the result, one thing is certain – an attacking, hard fought game where both teams will lay it all on the line.
