UWC continued their dominance of Varsity Sports Beach Volleyball by sweeping all before them in Margate on Friday.
The Cape team have yet to lose a match, with the weather the only thing that could stop them in Plettenberg Bay last week, and they continued that trend with another ruthless display in difficult conditions on Margate Main beach.
Having claimed the USSA Beach Volleyball title earlier in the week UWC made their dominance count as they handed out some resounding beatings in the wind and rain.
UJ were scheduled to face UWC in the final last week before the weather intervened, and they maintained that form with their only loss coming to the rampant leaders.
With some round robin matches scheduled for Saturday morning the race for the final two places in the semifinals should be intense with a number of teams still in the hunt.
TUT find themselves slightly further back, with their only losses coming against the two top sides.
NMMU may have lost narrowly to UP-Tuks early in the day, but they fought their way back with wins over UCT and Limpopo to hang on to fourth place.
The Ikeys had a tough time of it in the conditions and were left propping up the bottom of the table along with Limpopo as the only two teams that failed to register a win on Friday.
